Can I use wireless Internet in the residence halls?

Wireless Internet is available in some, but not all areas of the residence halls. You can view wireless access maps here to see whether or not wireless is available. With 1500 access points on campus, wireless is available in most in most public/common areas outside of the res halls. You will need to use your University Internet ID and password to access the wireless network.

Can I set up my own wireless network in the residence halls?

No, this is a violation of the ResNet terms of use. Users are not allowed to expand the network in any way (setting up wireless routers/access points/base stations). See ResNet user agreement #9.
