UMN-TV Online

UMN-TV Online provides a sampling of television content. The content is distributed directly to your computer from the active ethernet jack in your room, reducing the need for a TV. A mix of High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) channels are available.

Computer/Laptop recommendations::

PC: Windows XP, Vista, 7, Redhat Linux 7.3 and later
Mac: Mac OS X 10.4 or newer
Minimum Hardware - 1.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

Accessing UMN-TV Online

  1. Connect an ethernet cable from the etherjack in the wall to your computer/laptop. You must provide your own cable!
  2. Enter in a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox)
  3. Click the Launch Player button


If you are not receiving UMN-TV Online:

  1. Double-check your ethernet connection. Make sure you are plugged into an active ethernet jack by testing to see if you can get an Internet connection (e.g., google).
  2. If you are still unable to connect, there may be a problem with your ethernet jack. Please contact 1-HELP (1-4357) for assistance.
